
What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced “ray-key” (rei = universal spirit; ki + life force energy)) is a light, hands-on Japanese healing modality that promotes and prompts energy field balancing. Reiki aims to restore and align energies in the body to promote positive physical and mental well-being by aiding in healing and release.

What is energy healing?
Energy healing is steeped in ancient principles that encompass the totality of a healthy mind, body and spirit alignment. It is believed that movement of energy within the body can remove blockages allowing energy to flow more easily prompting and promoting better overall health and well-being.

Is Reiki used in care settings?
Reiki is used in hospitals and care facilities as a complimentary therapy to conventional
medicine. Reiki is offered to post-operative patients and cancer patients.
What does a Reiki session look like?
A Reiki session is an experience tailored to the needs of each client.
Session:

The client lies on a message table (fully clothed) and made comfortable through the support of blankets, bolsters and head towels.

The practitioner and client will set an intention for the session.

The practitioner channels Reiki energy through the hands using a light touch or hover technique (client’s choice) over several specific areas of the body allowing energy to move and flow through the chakras of the body - which are the energy centers.

Clients may experience sensations of warmth, tingling and deep relaxation. Experiences will vary.
